Measuring chamber for atmospheric dew point

Measuring chamber for atmospheric dew point, the pressure inside the measuring chamber is reduced to atmospheric pressure. Dew point measurement must be carried out in the atmospheric pressure range, especially in medical applications.

Since 1 August 2001, medical compressed air has been subject to the German Medicinal Products Act. Until then, the requirements for medical Compressed air were specified in DIN EN 737-3. The monograph "Aer medicinalis" in the supplement to the European Pharmacopoeia contains - in comparison to DIN EN 737-3 - significantly changed purity characteristics, whereby in particular the drastic reduction of the dew point temperature to -46°C atmospheric (this corresponds to 67 ppm V/V) leads to considerable difficulties. The value 67 ppm V/V for water corresponds to the condensation limit at a Pressure of 200 bar and a Temperature of 11 ºC. This limitation of the water content to the condensation limit is necessary because the condensation of water can cause corrosion damage and also favour the proliferation of germs.

The measuring chamber can be used from 2 to 16. Process connection G ¼" internal thread for connection to the process air. The G ½" thread for connecting the Dew point sensor. To ensure that the Dew point sensor installed in the measuring chamber is flushed with compressed air, approx. 2-3 l/min of process air is released into the environment via the built-in nozzle.
