Whether for granulate dryers in the plastics industry, the generation and use of various technical gases or in many other applications, dew point measurement and humidity measurement in compressed air and gas lines is extremely important for maintaining product quality. Our product range therefore includes specially customised stationary or portable solutions for dew point monitoring in refrigeration, adsorption or membrane dryers. Accessories perfectly matched to our measuring systems, such as measuring chambers, dry containers or diffusion tight hoses, make our dew point meters the perfect complete solution for seamless and trouble-free monitoring of the dew point and residual moisture in pipework.
4...20mA, Modbus RTU or M-Bus are available as interfaces. Furthermore, our dew point devices can be combined with our data loggers at any time. Dew point sensors from CS INSTRUMENTS enable reliable and long-term stable dew point monitoring in industrial applications from -80...20 °C dew point. Thanks to the indirect installation with measuring chamber, we also guarantee easy installation and removal of the sensor without interrupting the line, a fast adjustment time and optimum sensor protection.

(Pressure) air always contains water in the form of steam. Since air, unlike water, is compressible, the water precipitates in the form of condensate during compression. The maximum humidity of air depends on temperature and volume. It is not dependent on volume. The ambient air can be visualised as a damp sponge. It can absorb a certain amount of water when it is relaxed. If you press this sponge together, some of the water runs out. Some water will remain in the sponge even under high pressure. The situation is similar with compressed air.
At any temperature, the air can absorb a maximum amount of water in the form of steam. The warmer the air, the more water can be absorbed. The dew point is the temperature to which air can be cooled without condensation forming.
The pressure dew point is the temperature to which compressed air can be cooled without condensation forming. The pressure dew point depends on the final compression pressure. As the pressure decreases, the pressure dew point also decreases. Therefore, only the pressure dew point is meaningful for compressed air. The atmospheric dew point is misleading and should not be used.
